Mutton
Mutton is currently making a popular comeback (quite rightly in our opinion) after many years of being off the shelves. Perhaps customers deserted this beautifully tasty meat as much of it sold in the past was from very old sheep. This situation has changed tremendously over the last few years (visit the 'Mutton Renaissance' web site for more information). We can wholeheartedly recommend our mutton products - as tasty a meat as you are likely to find!
Occasionally we have some Mutton available, which comes from reasonably young sheep (i.e. 2-4 year old). The mutton will be from our Jacob, Kerryhill or Texel X sheep.
Although it does have a slightly stronger meat odour during cooking, you will be rewarded by the taste & flavour, which is definitely better (we think) than any young lamb.
